On Tuesday, February 7, The Relay conducted an interview with YouTube Fitness Vlogger Jessica Carmon. Jessica is a student at Xavier University of Louisiana and she has over 130 videos on her YouTube channel.

1. Can you tell our readers about yourself and your vlog?

Jessica: My name is Jessica Carmon and I make fitness YouTube videos. I have had my channel for over 5 years now, and I have 14,000 subscribers.

2. How do you manage your time to run your vlog efficiently?

I try to set aside one day out the week to make vlogs and videos for my YouTube channel. I film and edit all in the same day and then usually post it the next day.

3. What's the most frustrating aspect of vlogging?

Sometimes when I put a lot of effort into a video, and it does not get a lot of views, I get extremely frustrated. I still just have to keep myself motivated to keep going and continue to make videos.

4.What is your greatest achievement outside of vlogging?

My greatest achievement outside of vlogging is getting accepted into Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry.

5. Do you have any favorite Vloggers?

My favorite Vlogger is Bethany Mota.

6. What inspired you to start it?

I used to have a YouTube channel when I was in middle school, but then I deleted it. I regretted it, so I decided to make a new YouTube channel.

7. Do you have any special talents?

I guess I have a special talent if tumbling and cheerleading is considered special. I am a cheerleader and I love to tumble.

8. What do you want to do upon graduation?

After I graduate, I am going to attend medical school and become a pediatrician. I really want to have my own private practice.

9. If you weren't you would your friend?

Yes, I would be a friend to myself because I would say that I am a very kind and sympathetic person.

10. What's the first thing you notice about people?

The first thing I notice about people is their smile. I really pay attention to people’s smile the first time that I meet them.
