Self-Employment

In today's world, finding a job is hard. Even with a college degree, you are not guaranteed employment at someone's establishment. Jobs are no longer as stable as they once were.

The underemployment rate among recent college grads is in the neighborhood of 46%.

So what's the solution to this problem? Well that my friend is simple.

Colleges create students who are not only experts in their specific career path, but students who have skills that help in every area of life such as communication, responsibility, persistence, and problem solving. These skills are all attributes that a growing population in America have.

These are skills of an entrepreneur.

That's right, the solution to unemployment is self-employment.

Being self-employed doesn't mean you have to become an entrepreneur and start a full-fledged company, freelancing is an option.

A freelancer is a person who works for different companies at different times rather than being employed by one company.

Freelancing is now seen as a highly attractive and lucrative career option by 87 % of students with first or second class

degrees.

Now freelancing sounds relaxed, you work at your own pace and when you want to work, but it takes a certain mindset to be a successful and profitable one.
